Automation Specialist (Timmins, ON)

As an Automation Specialist, the successful candidate will execute, coordinate and expedite a succession of different engineering jobs, as part of capital expenditure projects. They will work independently in planning and carrying out project steps that require the application of mature engineering knowledge.

Daily tasks would include PLC / HMI / DCS programming; preparation of project estimates and scope of work documents, functional descriptions; interpretation of logic diagrams, electrical and instrumentation drawings; system commissioning and troubleshooting; development of operator manuals and course delivery; some traveling required.

Skill Set and Education Requirements:

1. An engineering technology diploma or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 5+ yrs of experience
2. Active PEO or OACETT membership will be considered an asset
3. Demonstrated experience in designing, configuring, building and testing operator interfaces (HMI/GUIs)
4. Demonstrated programming experience of programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
5. Must be able to work independently with attention to detail
6. Knowledge of mining related processes
7. A strong desire to learn more
