Primary Job Duties:

Structural Engineer, P.Eng.

The Structural Engineer plays a leadership role within a multi-discipline team to provide structural engineering design for detailed engineering projects. The successful candidate will lead design activities maintaining project schedules and ensuring successful project completion. Essential Job Requirements & Experience:

  • Collect and compile operational or experimental data and prepare proposals, scope of work, estimates, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports;

 Senior Software Developer

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating software for both internal and external clients. They will perform all aspects of development from requirements gathering to training end users. On large scale projects, they are part of a team working under a team lead and a project manager. On smaller projects, they may perform independently throughout the entire software life cycle. Developers will participate in estimation, proposal creation, requirements gathering, programming, testing, and documentation while delivering software solutions.

Skills and Requirements:

Project Controls Coordinator

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and reporting project cost information on major capital projects, as well as portfolios of sustaining capital projects. He/she will maintain planned and actual cost and commitment schedules, and in conjunction with the Project Manager, oversee variations and revisions to existing budgets, as well as changes to scope, schedule, and cost.  This role requires excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team to successfully deliver projects.  The Project Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain project budgets for multiple project portfolio, including but not limited to, earned value management, management of change, progress measurement, and cash flow projections.
  • Produce and organize project cost reporting.
  • Assisting with managing account receivables on projects.
  • Management of project invoicing.
  • Manage project set-up and project report management within ERP system.
  • Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, including Project Managers, clients and vendors.
  • Carrying out other Project Controls duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor or the Functional Manager from time to time in line with the incumbent’s career development plan and business needs.
  • Supporting department initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree/diploma in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline. Alternatively, appropriate project related experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with project teams/project managers in a cost reporting or controlling function.
  • PMP designation as asset.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Experience within the operation of a formal Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Dynamics AX.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office package (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications and presentations.

Primary Job Duties:

Mining Engineer

The successful candidate will have accumulated a high level of engineering expertise both at the discipline theory and in its application through study work and field experience.  The Mining Engineer will develop and maintain rolling 12 and 18 month plans and build BESTECH’s Mining Engineering team to grow our existing services team.  This person will be responsible to build and manage the Mining team to 1) develop mine designs at the FEL2-3 and Detailed Engineering levels, 2) help clients to integrate MineRP solutions, 3) work with our technology team for the integration of solutions within the mining industry.  This role will be based in our Sudbury or GTA office.

Essential Job Requirements & Experience:

  • University degree in Mining Engineering with 6+ years progressive mining experience, both operational and technical, with the majority in underground mining.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex and sophisticated engineering design projects
  • Extensive knowledge in engineering standards, codes and guidelines.
  • Must be registered as or immediately eligible to register as a P.Eng in Ontario.
  • Working knowledge of mine design software (Deswik, Autocad, Datamine).
  • Extensive computer knowledge in industry applications, including Deswik, MineRP, Promine, AutoCAD, EPS and Advanced user of Microsoft Excel. (Microstation or Microsoft Project).
  • Must be familiar with underground ventilation methods and the use of ventilation software such as Ventsim and VNet.

Mechanical Designer

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of engineering work activities which includes drafting and designing of mechanical and light structural systems, development of Scope of Work documents, Bill of Material documents, and Capital Cost Estimates.  This position reports directly to the Manager, Mechanical/Civil Services.

Essential Job Requirements & Experience:

  • A college diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum (5) years relevant mechanical design experience in an engineering firm or industrial environment
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination to identify design and drawing inputs
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in using Inventor or Solidworks applications would be an asset
  • Knowledge of engineering design standards, codes, and guidelines
  • Industrial experience is an asset
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong analytical and effective communication skills
  • Strong numerical ability and reasoning skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Must liaise with team members in other disciplines, designers, EIT and engineers to ensure client needs are met
