2021
Mining

BESTECH was commissioned to produce a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Tower and Rail Deposits and the Bucko Mill in the Snow Lake area of Manitoba.

This technical report covered mining, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines. The PEA evaluated the project’s economic viability, highlighting its potential for positive returns due to low capital intensity and operational costs, reinforcing the company’s development strategy.

SCOPE

The project adopted an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) approach by engaging Indigenous communities and focusing on environmental stewardship. Safety and health considerations were prioritized to ensure low-risk operations that promote employee well-being.

The scope included designing and assessing infrastructure for mining and milling operations to produce copper and zinc concentrates, including a remote Operation Control Centre, utility setup, on-site roads, mill condition assessments, tailings management, and mine design using RailVeyor™ technology for material transportation.

OUTCOME

The completion of the PEA provided a foundation for proceeding with the project, demonstrating its economic feasibility and alignment with modern mining practices. Integrating innovative mining methods and technologies showcased the project’s readiness to meet future challenges while upholding environmental and social governance standards. The financial analysis and risk management strategies ensured the project was positioned to meet its economic goals while complying with NI 43-101 standards, setting a precedent for future developments in the region.
