Vale Canada Limited

Vale's Concentrate Receiving Facility at the Copper Cliff Smelter complex required replacing two aging baghouses to prevent equipment failure and operational downtime.
SCOPE
BESTECH replaced the baghouses and updated the inlet and outlet ducting and compressed air piping systems. A stair tower with lighting was designed alongside each baghouse to improve operational efficiency and safety.
Previously, BESTECH conducted a FEL-3 Study to plan the baghouse replacements. Acknowledging the project’s tight schedule, BESTECH identified the delivery of new baghouses as a critical risk. To avoid procurement delays, BESTECH issued a Tender specification early in the FEL study.
OUTCOME
Repurposing existing foundations led to significant cost and time savings. Early identification of the baghouse purchase as a critical component and timely tender specifications expedited procurement, demonstrating BESTECH’s efficient project management and engineering approach.
