The objective of the Copper Cliff No. 8 project was to increase the overall reliability of the substation by removing the antiquated transformer and fuse cut-out and upgrade the substation to meet the current Vale protection standards. Similarly, the requirements for the Copper Cliff No. 6 project were to increase the overall reliability of the substation by removing the antiquated transformer, oil circuit breaker and switchgear line-up. By awarding BESTECH FEL2 studies for both projects, we were able to generate an innovative solution that combined both substations, minimizing capital requirements and increasing overall reliability of the system

FEL1 and FEL2 Studies – identify possible options such as upgrade, replacement, locations, and refine the best options to determine if we should move towards replacement or upgrade
FEL3 Study – refine capital cost budgets, complete a detailed scope of work, and further define the design criteria
